My mileage over the last 12 years went from -0- to 307 miles in 2009.I believe this number will increase dramatically in 2010 and hopefully continue for many many years. Now I have to pack my bag and leave for Albany, NY, where I will be running the "Hangover Half Marathon" tomorrow, my first ever half marathon.
Ready to rock,
-Mike

Mike's 12.55mi long run
Well, it hurt, but I made it through a 12.55mi long run today in 2hrs 19min. Hear more about it in R3 Episode 3.
Its a Wonderful Run 5k
It was a lot of fun. I wish they had a better PA system than the bullhorn that few could hear. Of course, there were many people in the front at the starting line that should have been in the back, but what can you do?
There were people running in several variations of Santa and Elf costumes as well as 2 guys who ran in jeans (that I saw) and a woman who ran in a full length puffy winter coat that came down below her knees.

Speed Work Tonight
I ran 1.25 miles down to a local track tonight at Holland Stadium. It was 20 degrees Fahrenheit and the 8" of snow we are waiting for held off, thankfully.
Here's the workout I did:
2x1600 8:43 & 9:13 2x800 recovery
1x400 2:02 1x400 recovery
1x200 :56 1x 200 recovery
1.25 miles back home
I feel pretty good. Didn't realize how much I sweat until I got inside my warm house. Gotta get a mile or two a good stretch in tomorrow to get ready for the "Its a Wonderful Run 5k" on Saturday in Seneca Falls.

Running Goals this Weekend
I need to get two runs in this weekend. A short one, maybe 3 miles, then the loooooong one. I am shooting for a 12 mile run, if I can find the time. I will post time and distances once complete.
Happy running!
Happy running!
Heading to Jersey
Me and the fam are heading for NJ in an hour. We'll be there till Sunday morning, so I will have to run in an unfamiliar place tomorrow morning. Only 3 miles, so I really only need 1.5 miles out and back. Any suggestions on what exit to turn around at?
On Sunday I have at least an 11 miler planned. I hope to get started before dark, but can't be certain of that. Then its time to finish episode 2 of the podcast!
